WELCOME
BOO BABBLES BLOG intends to understand, contemplate, consider, discuss, recognize, and communicate how to SURVIVE BLINDNESS.My plan is to assist others in understanding some of the frustrations, challenges, obstacles & *YES* rewards to SURVIVING BLINDNESS. Links I post , may or may not, be specifically related to vision loss. Some may be informative, interesting, relevant, meaningful or just plain entertaining. Living with deficits in a world so fast-paced & visual is challenging. It can be done. It takes willingness to adapt to the environment. I have found that it takes courage. I will be 'seeing' you then... BOO -o-o- EXPECT SOME MUSIC TOO!!! ♪♫♪♫♫ ASSUME NOTHING* CLARIFY EVERYTHING♥Will also be presenting my VIEWS on social injustice♥

THE COMFORT of a PET
Introducing EMMA. My cat. She turned 19 years old on February 1st.!!! 19 years in human years is about 89 years old. She has been a great comfort and companion throughout the many years, There are people who do not appreciate the wonder of animals . I am suspicious of those who state they do not "like or care for animals". (Aside from those who have experienced a traumatic event ie: vicious attack by an animal). I feel that having a pet makes a person more empathetic and understanding. My EMMA has kept me relatively stable throughout my many life challenges.Throughout the times of great loss and sorrow, EMMA has been there to comfort and support me. To those who do not feel a kinship with animals this may sound improbable. When I lost my vision and was in great pain ,Emma was there. When I had a stroke in 1996 and felt much loss, Emma was there. When I lost both my parents (Dad 2001 & Mom 2007), Emma was there. As I learned to live with my vision loss, and cope with a complicated & irreverent medical system, Emma was there. Emma has been a constant amongst many life changes. Having her to care for, when I could barely take care of myself, was a blessing.Emma has seen me through some rough times. I thought she was going to be gone this past fall. Earlier last spring, the vet felt she would be gone by summer. Hallelujah-Emma is still going quite strong for an old cat . I know it is now a matter of time until she must depart. Until then, I continue to welcome her comfort. Animals feel , know and understand that which most people cannot feel. Sad but true. I hope many of you have, do or will know the wonder, of the comfort, a pet can give you. Hopefully, not only through trials but in good times as well. Hug your pet today :)
